Region 12 Traffic Incident Management Team Meeting

Please join us as we gather as a multi-disciplinary team and work together to enhance responder safety at roadway incidents by reviewing best practices, conducting free training, and sharing experiences.

This meeting will be to discuss the Parallel Systems and Genesee & Wyoming Railroad battery powered autonomous railcar slated for testing in Georgia, which will go from Pooler through Vidalia and down to Cordele.

Agenda:

• Familiarization of major components of the vehicle and what to expect when it is operating
• Overview of the first responder guide indicating what to do if there is an incident involving the vehicle
• Procedures to disable vehicle
• Special hazards (do-not-cut zones and similar)
• Firefighting advice
• Lifting/towing points
• High voltage precautions
• Question and answer session about the technology and the proposed pilot program

We can gather topics during this time to include in the future hands-on training.
