The TIME Task Force 2025 Grants Application will open [date]. Interested agencies can review the following information to prepare for the upcoming application period.

2025 TIME Task Force Grants Application Period

Purpose: To provide incentives to enhance Traffic Incident Management (TIM) activities of City and County agencies responsible for responding to and mitigating traffic incidents within the State of Georgia.

Scope: Grants are awarded in the form of monetary award for the one-time purchase of eligible equipment based upon current finding availability.

Evaluation Criteria: Grants are awarded based upon the Traffic Incident Management Enhancement (TIME) Task Force Executive Board’s evaluation criteria. Consideration is also given to the agency’s TIM activities for the previous year and the agency’s articulated need for additional equipment.

Awards: Grant awards made to any individual agency will not exceed $20,000. Awards cannot be combined with any other source of funding.

Application: Applications are accepted for consideration insert date.

Criteria

1. Has your agency participated in an active TIM Team meeting? If so, which one and when?

2. Has your agency participated in a TIME event? (E.G. Annual Conference, Executive Briefing Breakfast, Quarterly Meeting)

3. Has the agency helped host a TIME Quarterly Meeting in the last two years?

4. What percentage of agency responders are National TIM certified?

5. Does your agency have at least two active National TIM trainers? 

Application Instructions and Process

1. Applicants must be filled out in full, including all required supporting documents listed in the Application Checklist on page 10.

2. The application must be submitted electronically to TIME Task Force at [email protected] no later than [date]. Applications will not be accepted after this deadline.

3. The TIME Task Force Executive Board will evaluate all timely submitted applications.

4. Applicants will be notified of the status of their application the week of [date]. All successful applicants will sign a grant award agreement. Grant funds will be disbursed after the grant award agreement is executed.

Minimum Qualifications to Apply

1. Open Roads Policy Endorsement: Prior to applying, applicants must first submit an Endorsement Resolution endorsing the Georgia Open Roads Policy (ORP). More information about the ORP is available online at https://timetaskforce.com/time-initiatives/open-roads-policy/ and click “Become a Member” to download a copy of the ORP Endorsement Resolution. Assistance is available to sign an ORP Endorsement Resolution by emailing [email protected]. The ORP Endorsement Resolution is complete once it is signed by both the authorized representative for the endorsing agency and the TIME Task Force Executive Board’s co-chairs.

2. Authorization to Apply on Behalf of an Agency: A dated and signed memorandum or letter signed by the Agency Head must be submitted with the application. An Agency Head may be an Agency chief, county or city manager, or other organization leader. The memorandum or letter must acknowledge that the Applicant is authorized to prepare and submit the TIME Task Force Grant application on behalf of the Agency and serve as the designated point of contact during the grant period.

3. Traffic Incident Management Teams: Only applicants licensed or otherwise certified to engage in TIM activities and with an active, ongoing engagement in TIM teams, scene safety, and incident response, need apply.

TIME Task Force Disclaimers

1. Applying does not guarantee or commit TIME Task Force resources. The TIME Task Force will directly contact successful applicants to confirm application approval.

2. Only complete applications with all required documentation and submitted prior to the submission deadline will be considered.

3. The TIME Task Force Board reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject any and all applications if it is determined to be in the best interest of the TIME Task Force.

4. Only those individuals who are designated as an authorized representative may apply for the TIME Task Force Grant on behalf of an agency.

5. Applying allows the TIME Task Force to request internal resources (e.g., supplying a meeting room for a TIME Task Force event) from the applicant.

6. The TIME Task Force Board reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to honor some or all of an applicant’s eligible equipment requested in the table in Section 5 of the TIME Task Force Grant Application, Description of Equipment.

7. Successful applicants will receive a one-time disbursement of the awarded grant funds following execution of a grant award agreement with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and will have 90 days from execution of the agreement within which to complete approved eligible equipment purchase(s). Successful applicants will also be required to submit documentation of the approved eligible equipment purchase to the TIME Task Force.
