The Georgia Traffic Incident Management Enhancement (TIME) Task Force is now accepting Committee Chair nominations from November 1 until December 15 at 11:59 p.m. Committee Chairs will serve a two-year term, which begins on January 2, 2025. See the official flyer below for more details.

TIME Task Force Committee Chair Descriptions
Communications
This committee coordinates timely and open communication both internally between transportation and public safety agencies as well as with the public and media. The committee chairperson shall be ultimately responsible for assigning and completing all tasks in conjunction with the Communications committee.
Operations
This committee focuses on improving traffic incident response and clearance procedures and overcoming institutional and jurisdictional barriers that reduce the efficiency of traffic incident management (TIM). Primary tasks within this committee shall include facilitating After Incident Reviews and working with TIM Teams. The committee chairperson shall be ultimately responsible for assigning and completing all tasks in conjunction with the Operations committee.
Programs
This committee focuses on planning and facilitating membership activities and events. Responsibilities include planning quarterly membership meetings and annual conference activities. The committee chairperson shall be ultimately responsible for assigning and completing all tasks in conjunction with the Programs committee.
Training
This committee focuses on approving, developing, and offering TIM training courses and tracking certification of the TIME Task Force and Towing & Recovery Incentive Program members. Responsibilities include training acceptance and approval of all TIME Task Force-offered training courses by the Training Standards Board. The committee chairperson shall be ultimately responsible for assigning and completing all tasks in conjunction with the Training committee.
Committee Chairperson Obligations
- Participate as a member of the Board of Directors.
- Attend monthly Board of Director meetings and special-called meetings, as scheduled.
- Host monthly Committee Meetings with assistance from the assigned Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) consultant.
- Deliver brief committee updates at the monthly TIME Task Force Board of Director Meetings.
- With committee support, lead committee initiatives to further the TIME Task Force’s goals.
- Attend TIME Task Force Quarterly Meetings.
- Assist with conference and meeting planning and production.
- Attend the TIME Task Force Biennial Conference, Biennial Executive Briefing Breakfast, and Annual Board Retreat.
- Commit to a two-year term.
Committee Chairperson Responsibilities
- Communications Committee Chair — Coordinates social media outreach, and themed invitations and newsletters (with assistance from consultancy staff).
- Operations Committee Chair — Supports regional and local TIM Team efforts statewide. Researches initiatives that the committee can deliver to support TIME Task Force goals; supports and directs committee efforts to improve interagency relations and overcome jurisdictional barriers (with assistance from consultancy staff).
- Programs Committee Chair — Identifies event facility locations and theme, speakers, meeting topics, and sponsors; provides input on conference, executive breakfast, and retreat agenda (with assistance from consultancy staff).
- Training Committee Chair — Coordinates development, approval of various types of training; supports new and existing trainers; sets calendar of classes offered by TIME Task Force for the year (with assistance from consultancy staff).

- How does the nomination process work?
- Fill out the nomination form found on the TIME Task Force website (www.Timetaskforce.com) and add up to a 150-word description of the nominee stating why they will be an asset for one of the TIME Task Force committee chair positions. TIME Task Force Board members will vote for each position to be filled.
- When does the nomination period open and close?
- November 1 to December 15, 2024.
- Are self-nominations accepted?
- Yes, you are welcome to nominate yourself or anyone else that qualifies. We suggest you confirm with your nominee that they have a desire and the time to commit to being a board member/committee chair before you nominate them.
- What is the financial commitment?
- There is no financial commitment to become a committee chair beyond travel expenses should you need to travel to meetings or events hosted by the task force.
- What if I am nominated but not elected?
- If you are not elected, we encourage you to re-apply during a future nomination period.
- What are the ways to nominate someone?
- You can nominate someone or yourself by filling out the nomination form on the TIME Task Force website at www.Timetaskforce.com.
- What if I miss the deadline to nominate someone/myself?
- The Nominating Committee takes nominations every two years. If deadlines for that year’s nominations have closed, the person’s name will be included in the leadership database. Individuals in the leadership database receive notifications of upcoming Calls for Nominations and opportunities to serve.
- How do I know if I have been nominated?
- If you are nominated for a position, you will be contacted via email notifying you of the position(s) for which you were nominated to ascertain your interest in the position.
- How are selected nominees announced?
- Nominees will be notified via email and phone call. Nominees will then be posted on the TIME Task Force website at https://timetaskforce.com/about-us/our-board/.
- When does voting take place?
- Voting is expected to take place on December 16, 2024, by the TIME Task Force Board members, at which point the administrative and notification processes will begin.
