4th Quarter 2017 Newsletter

The 2017 TIME Task Force Annual Conference gathered a broad range of first responders to the Lake Blackshear Resort in Cordele. Many attendees arrived Sunday and joined in a meet-and-greet event with the exhibitors, including Fouts Bros, Riegl USA, GDOT 511, Tran Safe, Digital-Ally, Southern Linc and Georgia Clean. Following TIME’s recently announced statewide expansion, it was rewarding to see so many fresh faces, agencies and regions in attendance. Everyone enjoyed the inspiring keynote presentation by Dr. P. Michael Murphy with his focus on maintaining your emotional well-being while facing the toll of working as a first responder. There were wide-ranging topics presented, including a primer on fentanyl from the GBI, thoughts on the role of TMCs in supporting incident management, the use of drones to assist emergency response and crime and trauma scene clean-up. Attendees were fortunate to hear about the extensive live training scenarios organized in Nevada by Pat Gallagher and Rita Brohman. Additional presentations included details of the traffic management plan of Suntrust Park, Georgia’s Yellow DOT program and a live demonstration and tour of an Air EVAC helicopter. The TIME conference is not possible without all our sponsors, members and committee volunteers. We look forward to seeing everyone in 2018.
