Webinar: Bridging the Gap between Freight, Infrastructure Protection and Traffic Incident Management (May 28 at 2 PM ET)

When: Thursday, May 28, from 2:00-3:00 PM ET

The Philadelphia, PA, region’s robust traffic incident management (TIM) program is recognized nationally as a best practice program. It is facilitated by the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) and supported by numerous agencies, including the New Jersey Department of Transportation, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, New Jersey State Police, and Pennsylvania State Police, among many others.

The presenters will highlight several important best practices realized by the bi-state region’s various corridor-based Incident Management Task Forces, examples of what can be gained by improved bi-state collaboration, and the great strides being made to engage the region’s freight community in TIM.

The presenters will also share information about the New Jersey State Police’s unique, federally funded Incident Management Unit and the important role it has played in dramatically reducing incident clearance times in the state. In addition, the presenters will discuss:

•    Security and hazmat considerations relative to TIM
•    Methods to ensure multimodal infrastructure protection by mitigating risks
•    The benefits of engaging non-traditional TIM partners
•    Information about why having a strong transportation system is critical to an effective TIM program

Adequate time will be allowed following the presentations for Q&A. This free webinar is being hosted by the TIM Network and FHWA.
