Call for Presentations - 2016 TIME Task Force Annual Conference

The TIME Task Force is seeking dynamic presentations for this year’s annual traffic incident management conference – Oct. 24 & 25 at the Westin Jekyll Island.

TIME’s conferences join the various disciplines addressing traffic incident management, including all classifications of first responders, public agencies and private-sector transportation professionals.

TIME is searching for interesting presentations that address innovations, trends, best practices and scene safety. Representatives from agencies, departments and businesses working in incident management are invited to send a brief description of a potential session topic and qualifications for the proposed presenter or presenters.

Expect Traffic Pacing on Metro Atlanta Interstates for HERO Funeral Procession

The funeral procession for HERO Operator Moses King will travel on multiple interstates in DeKalb and Fulton counties. Beginning at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 24, the funeral procession will leave the HERO Headquarters at 515 Plasters Avenue Atlanta, Georgia 30324 to the Murray Brothers Funeral Home, 1199 Utoy Springs Road SW, Atlanta, GA 30331. Funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. at the same location.

Georgia State Patrol, Fulton County Police Department, and Atlanta Police Department will escort the funeral procession. Law enforcement will close all lanes on I-85 southbound at the Buford Spring Connector (exit 86) to allow the funeral procession line enter the interstate. The same operation will take place on I-285 southbound (exit 9) at the I-20 interchange. The funeral procession will require approximately 2 lanes to be paced. The traffic pace will require motorists to drive 5 mph -10 mph.

Funeral Procession will leave at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 24
Funeral Service will begin at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 24

FUNERAL PROCESSION ROUTE:
• HERO Headquarters, 515 Plasters Avenue Atlanta, Georgia 30324
• All lanes will close on I-85 southbound at the Buford Spring Connector (exit 86) to allow all funeral procession vehicles to enter the interstate
• Continue on I-85 southbound to I-75/I-85 (Downtown Connector) southbound
• Exit off I-75/I-85 southbound to I-20 westbound (exit 247)
• Travel on I-20 westbound to the I-285 interchange (exit 51)
• All lanes will close on I-285 southbound (exit 9) at the I-20 interchange to allow all funeral procession vehicles to enter the interstate
• Continue driving on I-285 southbound exit at Cascade Road (exit 7)
• Continue traveling on Cascade Road to the Murray Brothers Funeral Home, 1199 Utoy Springs Road SW, Atlanta, GA 30331
